Characteristics

Photojournalism is characterized by the following factors:

Timeliness

The image must be of something that is on the news or a current event.

Objectivity

The situation implied by the image is a fair and accurate presentation of the events depict in both content and tone.

Narrative

The image must combine with other news elements (written article, for example), to make facts relatable to the viewer or reader on a cultural level.

Aesthetic

The image must keep the basics principles to make photography at the professional level.
